Remote Sensing Systems (REMSS) is seeking to hire a scientist whose primary focus will be applying satellite microwave remote sensing of the atmosphere and ocean surface to climate research. The work involves the on-orbit calibration of satellite sensors, analysis of satellite observations, development of retrieval algorithms, and validation of final products leading to the publication of scientific papers.
This position requires a strong background in physics/mathematics, exceptional analytical abilities, and demonstrated written and oral communication skills. The position is full-time and offers competitive salary and benefits.
REMSS is a small research company dedicated to the production and analysis of high-quality, long-term, oceanographic and atmospheric data sets for NASA and NOAA. REMSS was established in 1974 and is located in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California, USA. REMSS is an EOE.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of microwave radiometers. |
Advanced degree in physics, atmospheric science, physical oceanography, EE, or similar. |
Extensive experience with FORTRAN, and MATLAB or IDL. |
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status. |
Relocation to Santa Rosa, California (population 150,000), 1 hour north of San Francisco. |
